Officials investigate after Thomasville house fire kills 40 cats

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Thomasville house fire killed 40 cats last week.

It happened around 5 p.m. Friday night at a home on Royal Ave. 

Fire officials said a firefighter who lives nearby saw the smoke and saw flames coming from the kitchen area.

Forty cats died from the smoke, however, four cats survived.

As of now the cause of the fire has not been released.
