TIFT CO., GA (WALB) -

Bookworms aren't hanging out at a library right now because they are preparing for the first day of school.

Tift County schools start Tuesday and the Coastal Plain Regional Library System is seeing a lull in visitors.

But Library Director Cathy Griffis said the library had a busy summer rush.

Griffis even said the computers and free Wi-Fi are popular for many folks to use.

Griffis thinks visitors are preparing for their first day of school before coming back in to study.

"When the parties wrap up and all the activities wrap up we see a kind of drought, drop off and that's like, I guess today and for the next week or two until they get back to school and find out what they have to be doing and working on at that time," explained Griffis.

Griffis said she's excited to see some older folks hopefully return while kids are back in class.
