ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

About 40 Southwest Georgians spent their Sunday evening painting and relaxing.

Renaissance Connection Inc., an art organization in Albany, hosted it's 4th Jazzin' the Quarters event.

The Paint and Sip fundraiser brought an Albany-native musician, Russell Malone, back to the Good Life City.

The goal is to raise $1,000 by having guests paint Miles Davis using vibrant colors.

Femi Anderson is the Executive Director of Renaissance Connection Incorporated and an artist herself.

She said fundraising events like this are the first of many.

"Well it means that I have the opportunity to not only support the nonprofit but to also support my for-profit to be able to bring funds to the nonprofit," Anderson said.

The next Paint and Sip will be in November.
