ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some people in Albany got into the Christmas spirit a lot early this year.

Tift Park Community Market hosted its 4th annual "Christmas in July" event during its regular hours Saturday.

Vendors brought items for customers to give as holiday gifts.

"It's just a way to get some more vendors out here and some more people out here," said vendor Kathleen Stroup.

Saint Nick even made a special visit all the way from the North Pole to collect donations for Toys for Tots.

"It's a purpose of community service to people, and to have a good time," said Santa Claus. "Meet people you haven't seen for a while and meet new friends too."

The market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on North Jefferson Street in Albany.
