ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State University hosted its first ever fish fry Saturday evening to raise money for all athletic programs.
And it even welcomed its new head football coach, Gabe Giardina.
Athletes, coaches, and supporters welcomed Giardina.
Giardina comes to ASU from Charleston Southern University in South Carolina.
During his time he helped coach a team that won 36 games in the last 4 years.
"I realized pretty quickly that this is a place that's got a lot of resources and had a lot of talent and had a winning history and tradition. So you want to be at a place where you feel like you can go and be successful," Giardina said.
The Rams' first game is September 2nd at home.
