Mims Kids Incorporated hosts 6th annual stay in school rally

The first back-to-school bell will ring soon for Tift County school students.

Classes begin Tuesday, but to get in the spirit Mims Kids Incorporated hosted its 6th Annual rally today.

More than 200 high schoolers heard guest speakers emphasize the importance of good grades and staying in school.

Featured speaker Dallas Neloms said he has been supporting the Mims Kids non-profit for the past four years.

"Being able to give back to these students," Neloms explained, "Look at the kids and the smiles that they have to see everything that they're going through and understand they can come here to the Mims Kids' Rally and get school supplies even get to go in the bounce house. Some of those things are great for our kids to get exposed to.

Local businesses also gave information about different organizations students can get involved in outside the classroom.
