TIFTON, GA (WALB) -
South Georgia scored a touchdown for men's health and wellness on Saturday.
Tift Regional Medical Center hosted a kickoff to men's health event.
More than 200 men learned about men's health, and sports simultaneously.
The fair offered free health screenings, information sessions where doctors discussed concussions for football players and high school football previews.
Master of Ceremonies, Chris Beckham said the goal is to have as many health screenings for glucose and cholesterol as possible.
"It really is two-fold. What we know is men by nature are hard headed and so when we want to get a lot of men screened for health screenings, we offer free food and we offer to talk about football and that's how we get them out there," Beckham said.
Next year's event will be the 12th annual on the last Saturday of July.
