DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - Saturday is the grand re-opening of the Tift Park Community Market.
Vendors are celebrating by hosting Christmas in July from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Santa will even be there in his summer attire.
There will be produce, arts and crafts, food, plants and music.
Since storm damage kept merchants and shoppers in a parking lot, the former location has been approved to be utilized by FEMA.
Martha Palmer Bowden owns Martha Jane's Jams and Jellies and is excited to see the store.
"Well this is an incredible situation for us to be able to go back into the park because the whole point behind the Tift Park Community Market was being able to socialize; we had picnic tables, we were in the shade," Bowden explained. "This was a nice thing where people could just come and walk around."
Bowden says there was nowhere for people to sit when shoppers visited the community market when it was at the parking lot.
There will also be a Toys for Tots drive to give children without gifts a chance to make their Christmas special.
The Marine Corps will be there supporting the event.
Bowden said you can buy stuff for Christmas and give back to those in need.
"The important thing about it is, we see the poverty. And we see these kids who would not have any Christmas at all if it wasn't for the toys for tots. This is a longstanding organization that they have been doing this for many years and they are just incredible folks," Bowden said.
