ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dozens of students will finish up their last week at the Marine Corps Logistics Command on Friday.
Over the summer, base officials hired the largest group ever of 76 high school and college students.
Summer hires worked clerical and labor jobs such as IT, Financial Management and Distribution.
The Marine Corp Logistics Base officials said those positions would be vacant in the next five years.
Students explained the hands-on experience taught them about workplace etiquette and teamwork.
"Proper work etiquette how to come in on time, how to communicate with adults and people who are very professional. And how to carry yourself in the workplace because everyone has a different vibe in a different work environment," said Jalen Johnson.
"It's working for the federal government and also you can gain a lot of experience and it looks amazing on your resume once you go to apply for more internships and jobs," said Myonna Douglas.
Johnson said his experience motivated him to go into the Marine Corp as a public relations officer.
