THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) -

A South Georgia therapeutic riding center has a new member of their team, a horse named Dolly!

The new animal was won through a contest put on in Tennessee.

Hands and Hearts for Horses in Thomasville is a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic riding lessons.

This new horse will allow them to serve more than 100 children and adults with special needs.

Employees said this horse would have a huge impact on the community.

"When they are able to get on that horse and control and manipulate them it's such an empowering and confidence building thing," said Susie Shin, Program Director.

Dolly will soon go through 90 days of training and be ready for riders shortly after!
