ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The owner of Bob White Rents said Monday night's fire caused thousands of dollars in damaged equipment.  The fire happened around 8:25 p.m.

We were not allowed inside the business, but from the outside, you could clearly see damage from the fire.

Albany Firefighters investigated the scene, piecing together what's left, in hopes of determining a cause.  AFD said about 30 percent of the building was damaged.

Bob White Rents is located on the 700 block of West Broad Avenue.

A passerby actually spotted the fire and called 911.

Owner Steve Feagans said he's estimating the fire damaged approximately a few thousand dollars worth of equipment.

Feagans said it took firefighters a few hours to put out the flames.

Because of the fire, their neighbor, Creative World Childcare Center, will be closed due to smoke damage.

Feagans said for now, the building is closed, but they're still open for business.

The Albany Fire Department is still investigating what caused the fire, which appears to have started inside, by the back door.
