VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Police have arrested two people in connection to a shooting on Shanna Circle that  happened on July 15.

Lawrence Franklin, 18, was arrested on Sunday, July 23, after police got a tip about his whereabouts.

Jahnard Brooks, also 18, voluntarily turned himself into the Lowndes County Jail on Monday.

Both men are charged with aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Valdosta Police said the victim, Traveiz Hill, was in an argument with Franklin and Brooks at a home on Shanna Circle.

The argument escalated to the point where a handgun was produced by one of the subjects.

Hill was shot once and tried to run away.

According to police, Franklin and Brooks reportedly chased him down, and shot Hill a second time.

Hill received a gunshot wound to the head and torso.

"The Valdosta Police Department is grateful for the citizen’s tip in this case," said VPD Lieutenant Adam Bembry. "That information, combined with the facts already known by the detectives, led to Mr. Franklin being taken into custody peacefully, and without incident."

Hill has since been released from the hospital.
