ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dairy Queen has a great reason to cool off with one of their Blizzards this week.
On Thursday, July 27th, several Dairy Queens throughout southwest Georgia will come together to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network at Phoebe.
Phoebe kicked off the fundraiser Wednesday by ordering 200 Blizzards.
"We are so thankful for everything that Dairy Queen does for our local kids," said CMN coordinator Becca Miller. "Dairy Queen is our second largest donor to CMN at Phoebe, raising over $21,000 last year, $1 at a time. Buying a blizzard July 27 is something small our community can do to make a huge difference in the lives of our children in Southwest Georgia."
During Miracle Treat Day, $1 or more from every Blizzard Treat sold will be donated to CMN Hospitals, which raises funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.
Funds raised at the participating locations stay local and directly helps children in need:

Every penny raised locally to benefit Children's Miracle Network stays in Southwest Georgia to help medical professionals treat our local children. Since 1997, Children's Miracle Network supporters have raised more than $4.5 million to provide specialized equipment and programs to help babies and children treated at Phoebe.
From life-saving equipment to help treat our most critically ill newborns to life-enhancing toys in the Pediatric Unit playroom, every child needing Phoebe's care has benefited from funds raised through the Children's Miracle Network.
