ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A new nonprofit in South Georgia hit the streets Saturday to help the homeless.

Destiny Dykes founded "TRIBE" last month.

Saturday morning and afternoon, she hosted the nonprofit's first event.

Six volunteers gave out more than 80 care packages to those in need in Albany.

The care packages included hygiene items, food, and water.

Dykes said she hopes to host a similar event with bigger care packages this winter.
