ORLANDO, FL (WALB) - Two years after a Moultrie family was killed in an accident near West Palm Beach, Florida, investigators have arrested a man suspected of causing it.
Thomas Garza, 23, Lillian Luna, 20, and their daughter Brianna, were on their way to Walt Disney World, to celebrate their daughter's first birthday.
James Geoffrey Dameron, 26, was taken into custody Tuesday, following a traffic stop in Palm Beach County, driving on a suspended license.
Troopers received a tip on Monday that led to Dameron's arrest. Investigators had been searching for Dameron since the September 2015 crash. He faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide
The Florida Highway Patrol said that Dameron, then 24, of Orlando was driving south on the Florida Turnpike at 4:20 on a Sunday morning when his Mercedes hit the 2001 Nissan, driven by Garza.
Garza and Luna were killed on the scene. Their one-year-old baby girl, Brianna, was thrown from the car and died at a hospital.
Authorities said that both vehicles overturned on their sides and caught fire.
WKMG, Orlando reported that Dameron suffered minor injuries, and was driving with a suspended license, and had more than a dozen traffic infractions since 2013.
