VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta police said Tuesday that a man they arrested last week may be responsible for several burglaries.

Officers saw Cedell Thomas, 38, crossing VSU’s north campus On Wednesday, July 12, right after a burglary was reported in the 2500 block of North Oak Street.

They stopped him, and found stolen property near that spot, and arrested Thomas.

Officials are convinced that Thomas has a connection to a July 5 burglary of a house in the 2500 block of North Oak Street, and another one on July 10th, at a house in the 1800 block of Iola Drive.

"The Valdosta Police Department is proud of the hard work by the Burglary Unit in this case in linking the suspect to the multiple offenses. VPD is also grateful for the assistance of the Valdosta State University Police Department for their assistance in locating the suspect," said Lieutenant Adam Bembry.

Thomas is charged with two felony counts of burglary, and one misdemeanor count of theft by receiving stolen property.
