ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Police officers were busy early Tuesday morning with several calls on a busy thoroughfare.

Police responded to a burglary at the Dollar General on North Slappey. Police arrested Willie Green. Police say the suspect took a pack of cigarettes from the store.

APD also investigated a car break in at the Knight's Inn on Slappey. No one is in custody in that incident.

Police also tell us there was a burglary at the Albany Beauty supply store.

Employees had to clean up the mess crooks left behind at the Beauty Supply store before dawn. They boarded up the door where the crooks shattered the glass.  The manager tells us the crooks didn't get away with anything.

Surveillance video caught two men walking up to the doors and smashing the glass with a brick. The men then walked around the store, checking for police.

They weren't able to get inside of the store because of the bars on the door.

"It's a good thing to have security measures, because you never know what's going to happen, so you always got to think ahead of the criminals," said Travious Posey of Albany Beauty.   "So you know, things happen, so I'm grateful that they didn't get in and steal anything."

Store staff is glad they took that extra step to keep crooks out.
