ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It will soon be much easier for drivers to exit out of the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport parking lots.
On Monday evening, Albany-Dougherty County Aviation Commission gave an update on the parking lot redesign.
The new design will include a second exit lane for customers parking in both short and long term lots.
This week, construction re-started after being halted for a week after crews uncovered a water line.
Airport staff said having one lane was causing a lot of congestion especially for people who don't need to pay at the ticket booth when exiting the parking lots.
Separately, the aviation commission also voted to recommend current members, Ken Hodges and Dr. Charles Gillespie, to remain on the board.
Both of their terms expired.
Those recommendations will be reviewed and voted on by Albany city commissioners.
