TIFT CO., GA (WALB) -

Tift County Schools wrapped up the Seamless Summer Program this week.

The program provided kids up to age 18 with free meals over the summer.

At the highest point of the summer, the program served 2,000 meals in one day.

It's all in partnership with the local Y, along with different volunteer organizations.

"Our volunteers really drive this process," said Vanessa Hayes, Director of School Nutrition. "We have our religious community, our Y community, our rec center, all of us come together, and our volunteers actually make it work."

The program added two new sites this year, and organizers said they hope to add even more next year.
