ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Area YMCA is getting kids ready for school next month.

The Y teamed up with Talecris Plasma Resources to host a Back to School Bash.

Talecris will be giving away 150 backpacks stuffed with school supplies.

And they'll be offering 150 free meals for the kids.

Staff will have the mobile gym, games and free swimming at the pool.

"We want all the kids in the community to get off on the right foot for back to school. And we want them all to be excited to be going back to school, ready to learn and to have what they need and so that's what this is about," said YMCA Chief Development Officer Tami Pursley.

The YMCA's Back to School Bash is free and open to the public.

It takes places on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sports Park located at 4508 Gillionville Road.

Also, there will be no joining fee if you choose to sign up for a Y membership.
