2 people arrested after Pelham shooting

MITCHELL CO., GA (WALB) -

Two teenagers were arrested Friday in connection to a shooting in Pelham that happened early Thursday morning.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Willie Butler, 18, and De'Iveon Hopkins, 17, both from Camilla, were taken into custody Friday afternoon and charged with aggravated assault and theft by taking of a motor vehicle.

The charges are in connection to a shooting that happened in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard just before 1 a.m. on Thursday.

One person was shot and taken to the hospital.

Both men have been booked into the Mitchell County Jail.

The GBI officials said that agents are still processing and analyzing evidence and will consult with prosecutors on possible additional charges.
