CORDELE, GA (WALB) - A Christian ministry in Cordele is helping feed the community for the second summer in a row.
Hand of Hope, Inc. has a garden behind its location on South 7th Street in Cordele.
Right now, more than 15 veggies grow in the garden, including tomatoes, squash, zucchini and peppers.
The garden spans two and a half acres.
It is free for anyone to come out and pick vegetables to bring home.
"The purpose of the garden, the Word says, for as much as you have done to the least of one of these, you have done unto Me," said Donna Stripling, the ministry's founder. "This is Christ's work. This is the Kingdom of Heaven at work on earth."
Hand of Hope does accept donations.
It is also looking for anyone willing to donate use of a small tractor to help clean the garden up.
Hand of Hope, Inc. is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
