ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Krispy Kreme is celebrating its 80th birthday, with a dozen donuts for 80 cents Friday.

We spoke with a cook at the Albany location who said business was booming.

Folks waited in long lines inside the store and in the drive thru line, waiting to take advantage of the deal.

But the customers told us the wait was totally worth it.

All day, you could get a dozen donuts for 80 cents if you buy a dozen donuts at regular price.

Nancy Albrecht has been a cook at Krispy Kreme for 16 years now.

She said while the day is hectic, it's good business.

"Job security," she said. "When you've got business running like this.  It's job security.  Especially during the summer when we're slow. It's definitely the place to be today!"

Nancy says the biggest order she's seen today was ten dozen donuts.

The deal ends Friday at midnight.
