Douglas Police investigate fight, drug arrest follows

DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - Douglas police went to investigate what they thought was a fight on Dewey Avenue last Sunday,  but they soon found drugs, and the Douglas – Coffee Drug Unit was called to respond as well.

Brandon Carter,  24, of Douglas man is now in jail for cocaine distribution and other multiple felonies.

When officers checked out the physical altercation involving firearms, they said that Carter ran into the house, then tried to run off.

They caught him at a doorway of the home, and noticed a bag of suspected marijuana on the floor.

Drug unit detectives then found crack cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, a loaded firearm, and $500 in cash.

Brandon Carter faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and criminal use of an article with an altered identification mark.
