ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Grab the ketchup, because Thursday, July 13th is National French Fry Day!
While historians continue to debate whether French fries started in Belgium or France, they have become a symbol of America and its love affair with fast food.
Fortune.com reports that the average American eats roughly 30 pounds of fries a year.
And according to the National Potato Council, one of every three potatoes grown in the USA is used to make fries.
Whether you like the regular style, waffle fries, curly fries, or shoestring fries, there's plenty of fries to be eaten today and every day.
