THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Three Restaurants in Thomasville will probably be seeing a lot more new customers walking through their doors.
Jonah's Fish & Grits, Sweet Grass Dairy, and SASS are all mentioned in the new Georgia Culinary Guide for 2017.
The restaurants were awarded the distinction of being listed as "100 Plates That Locals Love" by the Georgia Department of Economic Development's Tourism Division.
Thomasville Tourism Director Bonnie Hayes said that food is definitely a driver for visitors into the downtown area.
"Thomasville is getting to be known as a foodie destination. One thing if you come into our downtown. You are going to notice they are locally owned so you're going to have food that's locally sourced," said Hayes.
This year more than 750 'plates' were nominated and evaluated by a panel of judges.
