DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County Police are investigating after a church was burglarized on Saturday.

Police said the burglary happened at the Mount Early Baptist Church on Cordele Road between noon and 6 p.m.

Charles McDonald has been the pastor of the church for eight years.

He says this is the second time in the last four months this happened.

The burglar stole the TV in McDonald's office and the church's electronic Yamaha keyboard.

The pastor said the burglar kicked in the pastor's office door where they knocked down a bookshelf to get the TV.

There is an alarm system that did sound, but McDonald wasn't able to get to the church until an hour later.

"Right now we just trust in God, knowing that God will make everything all right. We're believing in him, kind of had a trying day today, but God is able," said McDonald.

McDonald is asking for the community's help in finding who did this to him and his church.

He's asking anyone with a pawn shop to keep an eye out for a Yamaha M88 keyboard.

If you have any information you can call Dougherty County Police at 229-430-6600.
