An Albany woman has taken the lead to help those in need during this hot South Georgia summer.
Kaley Hart works at Bush Animal Clinic.
Hart has organized a community outreach drive for the summer months.
She is asking people to donate hygiene items.
She will then pass them along to people at the Salvation Army shelter in Albany.
Hart said she believes it's important to remember that not everyone is as fortunate as some may be.
"I just think it's having empathy," said Hart. "You want to put yourself in other people's shoes. I hope other people do that. I couldn't imagine if I was out here and didn't have any shelter and no A/C, it would be horrible."
Here's a list of what you can donate:
bottles of water
other hygiene items
You can drop these items off at Bush Animal Clinic or at the Salvation Army in Albany.
