ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany police arrested a man in connection with last week’s burglary at the Juana Vape store on Ledo Road.

Malakhi Perkins, 18, was arrested and charged with burglary in the 2nd degree and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

Police said Perkins was the man in a hoodie that burglarized the store early June 30.

According to the owner, Tobey Cox, two masked people used a makeshift flame thrower to heat up the glass on one of the windows.

Then they used a scooter to break the window.

Cox said one of the thieves then came into the store, filled duffel bags with merchandise and handed the filled bags to the accomplice waiting outside through the hole they had made.

Then police said the crook escaped through the back door.

Cox said Thursday he was happy with how quickly Albany police made the arrest.
