Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol responded to an accident involving a car and an 11-year-old on a mini motorcycle.
It happened around 4 p.m. Monday near the intersection of State Route 11 and Hitson Street in Statenville.
Officials said the child was riding a Coleman mini bike on private property when he turned onto the main road in front of a car.
The car struck the bike and the child was thrown nearly 60 feet. Officials said he was not wearing a helmet.
He was taken to Shands Medical Hospital in Gainsville, Florida.
He succumbed to his injuries at around 2:30 on Tuesday.
No charges are expected for this crash.
