FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) - CSX Railroad is planning to upgrade two crossings in July, which will require state Route 11 detours in and near Fitzgerald.
The first detour is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Monday July 10, and end at 6 p.m. Thursday July 13, for the crossing at Sherman Street.
From State Route 90 and State Route 11, traffic will be routed right onto State Route 107 to Rhine Road, left onto Joshlyn Road, then right onto U.S. 129/State Route 11, or straight on Lower Rebecca Road and then right onto State Route 90.
The second detour is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday July 11, and end at 5 p.m. Friday July 14, for the Grant Street crossing.
The detour route from State Route 11 is left onto Joshlyn Road, right onto Rhine Road, straight at the junction of Rhine Road and State Route 107, then left onto State Route 11.
CSX will remove the existing track and roadbed, upgrade the surface, and install new crossing material.
