Firework stores see a rise in sales

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Year after year, Family Fun Fireworks owner Kenneth Goff said he sees the same customers coming back to purchase fireworks for the Fourth of July Holiday. "Firework sales have started off a little bit stronger however with rain they were down, now that the sun has come back out we have see the numbers come in,".

Goff said it's been a good year for firework sales at all eight of his locations.

The hot ticket item this year are the value packs.
"People are looking for economy, even though the economy is a little bit stronger than it was last year. People are still looking for value," said Goff.

Goff said the Bemiss Family Fun Fireworks location is a special one, at least to him. Part of the proceeds from firework sales go towards improving the church next door.

"With that we have remodeled our family life center, added a gameroom, put carpet in our Sunday school rooms, with several years we've done a lot. It's been a blessing," said Goff.

With customers coming back year after year, it gives these store owners like Goff a chance to personalize their service...allowing local families in south Georgia to light up the sky in celebration of independence day.
