COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Two people were arrested in Coffee County after the sheriff's office said deputies found a 'mountain of stolen merchandise' at a residence in the 300 block of Schley Street in Douglas on Friday.

According to the Coffee County Sheriff's Office, authorities executed a search warrant at the residence and later arrested Claudin Pubien, Jr., 26, and Sierra Hodges, 25, after they were suspected of being responsible for a string of burglaries that started last year.

The report says the burglaries began around the Christmas season in 2016.

The burglaries usually involved the offenders kicking in doors at random Coffee County homes and targeting specific items like firearms, electronics, and jewelry.

Pubien has been charged with multiple counts of burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Hodges has been charged with multiple counts of burglary.

The investigation into Pubien and Hodges is ongoing as law enforcement sorts through the items confiscated during the search.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Coffee County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division at (912) 384-4227.
