ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany's newest music shop gives firework listeners something to fear.

The Drum Shed on Dawson Road opened its doors to more than 30 customers today.

Warren Ewings created the family-owned business to give percussionists an outlet for their music.

Whether students or musicians want to learn or practice, The Drum Shed gives lessons or a membership to come practice.

Ewings even designed his own drum and marimba sticks for sale at his shop.

"This is huge. I left a career this time last year, almost a year to the day to pursue a career as a drummer to see if I could make it, sink or swim. I walked away from a career and here we are a year later," Ewings said.

Ewings says his goal is to give passionate drummers a place to practice.
The store's motto is "Train like Athletes, Perform like Artists."
