CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - Crisp County is 'StormReady!'
The designation means the county has proven officials are ready to respond to storms.
Right now, the county has outdoor warning sirens, but officials say residents should have another way to get notifications in the event of severe weather.
Sheriff Billy Hancock said the storms over the past six months show how prepared the community is.
"We were able to work with people and be more prepared on the front end, so when the storm actually came and took place here in the community, we were up and going and we were able to turn around and make sure that we had protected our community to the best that we could possibly protect them," said Sheriff Hancock.
This is the county's 10th year of being designated storm ready.
The new recognition given this month is good through 2020.
