Man found shot in Cordele motel dies

CORDELE, GA (WALB) - The GBI has been requested to assist the Cordele Police Department in a death investigation.

Cordele Police Chief Rob Rodriguez tells WALB News that police were called to the Motel 6 at 2109 16th Avenue, Tuesday.

Police arrived about 8:00PM, and found one person shot.

He was transported to Crisp Regional Hospital, where he later died.

The Chief identified him as John Lunsford, 38, a white man from Canton.

His body is being transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon for an autopsy.
