DECATUR CO., GA (WALB) -

Officials have identified the victim of a brutal ax attack in Decatur County.

Authorities went to the location of the incident, a mobile home park on Mt. Olive Church Road.

They found John Kyle Hader, 60, lying on a bed, covered in blood, with multiple wounds to his hand, head, and face.

Harder was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Charles Slade, 73, called Bainbridge Police Monday, and told them they needed to come to his Palm Street home.

Slade said that his son had come over in a truck, with a bloody ax in the back.

Cameron Slade took the ax from the pickup truck and threw it into a growth of trees a short distance away. He then walked to the Jamestown Apartments.

Deputies found Cameron Slade in a nearby storage building and arrested him without incident.

The incident report indicates that Slade told the deputy that someone he called "Chopper' was 'messing with his daughter, and that he had killed the man.'

Cameron Slade was booked into the Decatur County Jail, where he remains.
