THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Folks in Thomasville spent the afternoon at the new amphitheater on Tuesday making art!

This is part of the new program called Tuesdays at the Amphitheater that Downtown Thomasville leaders are organizing this summer.

Tuesday, kids and their parents made string heart art with employees from Pottery Frenzy.

There was also storytime with The Bookshelf shop employees.

Downtown event staff said they were pleased with the turnout.

"We've had some rain issues but today is a beautiful day and when we have great weather we have great turnout. Lots of people bringing their little ones. Its a great way to get people introduced to the area," said Sarah Turner.

The next amphitheater event will be held Tuesday July 11th.
