DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - A huge nest was spotted by Angler Lee Harper in the Flint River, and now experts are warning South Georgians to stay far away from it.
Harper took pictures of the nest over the weekend.
He says the nest is about 4 and a half feet wide.
Harper says he thought they were hornets, but said that he began getting buzzed about 40 feet away.
The nest is located about a half mile north of the Turner Field Boat Ramp,
Master beekeeper Dale Richter saw the pictures, and said he believes it is a yellow jacket nest.
Richter warned that if it is yellow jackets, it is extremely dangerous and warns people to leave it alone.
