A man who was convicted of a sex crime in 2006 was placed in the Coffee County jail Tuesday, because he violated the terms of his parole, with his sex offender status.
50-year-old Randy Flanagan is a registered sex offender who is required to register with the sheriff’s office and report any changes such as addresses, jobs, vehicles, and telephone numbers within 72 hours of the changes.
Flanagan was convicted of sexual exploitation of a child in Turner County, Ga. following a 2006 incident. He was paroled in 2011, but was rearrested for failing to register as a sex offender between 2013 and 2016.
Flanagan had registered his most recent address at a residence on Madison Ave. in Douglas, but Coffee County detectives learned he had moved from that address nearly a month ago without informing authorities.
Flanagan is charged with one count of failing to register as a sex offender.
