ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany city leaders approved spending $155,000 to pay for the development of two more downtown properties.

Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority (ADICA) members explained they received two lease applications for properties, one is located at 102 Pine Avenue and the other at 123 Front Street.

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was formed to work only on the downtown projects in the central business district.

The committee also approved an agreement between ADICA and DDA to make sure they don't duplicate duties.

"Our board and their board we share three of the same board members and I think that's a testimony to the importance that we place on being able to cooperate and work together," said ADICA Chairman Jimmy Lindsey.

ADICA members also approved changes to 2017-2018 budget.

The $50,000 that's available for operating expenses will be included on the Downtown Development Authority's budget for next year.

In previous years, those funds were on ADICA's budget.

DDA will be using the funds to sponsor events.
