ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Delta Sigma Theta members spent Friday afternoon giving back to young girls in Albany.

The sorority stopped by Girls Inc. Friday afternoon for their annual community service day, and to mark the Albany chapter's 20th anniversary.

The group held several workshops discussing etiquette, self-esteem and spiritual insight.

They also did some arts and crafts and learned how to apply makeup.

One DST was once a member of Girls Inc., and was happy to be back to share her personal experiences with the girls.

"When it was time to choose community service it was a no-brainer for us. Because collectively we have a lot of talents, we have a lot of experiences to share with the girls we think they can benefit from," said DST member Stephanie Wilkerson.

DST members said community service is one of the pillars of the organization and they hope to carry on that legacy with events like today.
