MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - The Moultrie Fire Department and The Georgia Forestry Commission spent much of Thursday afternoon battling a fire at Beadles Lumber Company.
It started around 12:30 p.m. in a scrap pile on the edge of the yard and is under control.
The Georgia Forestry Commission has been assisting by plowing the fire to break it up and spraying a few areas.
Officials are allowing some areas of the fire to just burn out and will continue to monitor the area for the rest of the afternoon.
In a Facebook post on the City of Moultrie's page, the fire department asked drivers to avoid the area.
