MILLER CO., GA (WALB) - Law enforcement staged a manhunt for a Miller County inmate who escaped while attending a supervised church service at Colquitt United Methodist Church on Sunday.
Tuesday morning, they reported that Sherrod Menette turned himself in to officials at the Early County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Miller County Sheriff's Office, Menette left the church and walked down Martin Luther King, Jr. Street around 11:00 a.m.
Menette was picked up by a driver who did not know he was an escapee, and dropped him off in the 8000 block of Highway 45 North in Damascus, where he was last seen.
He was being held in the Miller County Jail on state probation violation charges.
