FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) -

Units of the Fitzgerald Fire Department, and the Ben Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded a blaze at the Rainbow Manufacturing plant, in the city.

This is just off Grant Street, which is also Highway 319.

Fire officials say the fire started near the paint booth area of the plant.

Fire Chief Jeffrey Dobbins said the roads are reopened and the paint room and a storage room are destroyed.

An investigator is coming to look into it, but says some insulation near the paint room caught fire.

The fire happened around 10:51 and he says it took about 40 minutes to put out..

There was substantial smoke damage to the structure, but no injuries.
