ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

On Friday, April 21, 2017, the Boys and Girls Club of Albany held a special ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Collaboration Learning Center.

“This collaborative center will give children the opportunity to work on different projects in a fun, exciting, new space,” Boys and Girls Club of Albany CEO Marvin Laster said.

The center is located inside the Jane Wilson Unit on Holloway Avenue.

Kids in the community will be able to learn how to work together with different projects.

Volunteers from Lowe’s Improvement Store and Kohl’s helped with the transformation.

Sabal Trail Transmission provided the funds.

"There’s a lot of pride, a lot of hope, and sense of family in Albany…so this just made perfect sense for us to make this happen,” Director of Stakeholder Outreach for Sabal Trail Transmission.

Sabal Trail Transmission donated $75,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Albany. The money will cover the cost of the new center, provide funds towards a new gym at the Jefferson Unit, and a new group van.
