THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Nursing students at Southern Regional Technical College can now continue their education one step further, thanks to a new agreement.
The school has partnered with Mercer University.
Students who transfer from SRTC to Mercer to earn a bachelor's degree will have a smooth curriculum transition that minimizes loss of credit and duplication of coursework.
SRTC says nursing jobs are in high demand. "Right now in the state of Georgia there continues to be a nursing shortage throughout the state," said SRTC President Dr. Craig Wentworth. "Not only in our southwest is Georgia with our hospitals, but throughout the state there a shortage."
Articulation agreements such as this are becoming increasingly more common.
