A Douglas man faces domestic violence charges after Coffee County deputies responded to a fight in a road Thursday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to Aubrey Road in reference to a domestic dispute, around 4:30 p.m.
They saw a woman and 28-year-old Cortney J. Young, engaged in a verbal altercation.
Deputies separated the two, and asked about a fight, and Young denied that any physical contact had occurred.
The woman said that Young had struck her in the face with an open hand, pulled her hair, and ripped her shirt.
Deputies observed physical evidence corroborating her story, and took pictures of her.
Cortney Young was arrested at the scene and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
He faces one charge of simple battery under the Family Violence Act.
