One of the beauty's of being great at what you love, is getting paid to do it.
Pelham High's Destiny Thomas isn't yet making an income via basketball, but she also won't be incurring any student debt.
The senior guard tied the knot with Clemson University Thursday afternoon.
Thomas has a long list of accolades at Pelham that includes a state title, region titles and over 1,000 career points.
With offers from several ACC programs, Thomas chose to join the Lady Tigers.
The 5 foot 9 guard is leaving the Lady Hornets program fresh off a title-run and has plans of doing the same at the next level.
"That gives me a boost to keep going," said Thomas. "I would like to win a championship in college as well, and that's what my coaches at Clemson were telling me that now that I have a championship, I can come and help us win a championship at Clemson."
Thomas is joining former Randolph Clay forward Kobi Thornton, and her former AAU teammate Aliyah Collier when she attends Clemson this fall.
