LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - This season, the Lady Trojans haven't been about that losing lifestyle.
You may ask, who is?
Well, every single one of their opponents to date.
Lee County soccer is just one win away from their first undefeated regular season ever.
After winning their first region championship since 2012, the Lady Trojans stand at (16-0).
The only remaining unbeaten team in Class-AAAAAA calls Leesburg home.
Their final game of the regular season is on the road against Tift County (7-8) on Thursday.
The Lady Blue Devils defeated them three times last season. The Lady Trojans only need to beat them once this year to make history.
"Because we know half their players and we know most of them and how they play and stuff like that, and we've always lost or came close with them so to beat them would be awesome," said senior goalie Cassidy Norman.
Lee county has 12 shutouts on the season and have only allowed four goals all year. That's the lowest of any team in Georgia to play more than 10 games.
"You can't be that good defensively if you don't work together," said Dave Baltenberger who is having his best season of his 9 years leading the team. "So they communicate and work together and we have a great goalie. Those two things together keeps a lot of people from scoring."
They'll need another big effort from their defense Thursday in Tifton to remain unblemished.
The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
